About Our Bakery

The oldest Baker Sister (my mama …her nickname in East Texas was “Susta”) might have been born in the kitchen next to the potbelly stove by the hands of the midwife but me and my sister were not. We make up the “Baker Sisters”. Fast forward decades after “Susta” was born in the kitchen, mama (“Susta”) got started making wedding cakes in the kitchen. When us girls went off to college. She needed something to do because she and daddy were empty nesters. So she took classes to learn how to make wedding  cakes. She always baked a heap of cakes, cookies and pies for the family for Sunday dinner and all of them Texas sized backyard BBQs would not have been the same without her famous dessert table. 

 

Child, mama could make everything from a pig foot to a petit four. We had to get her to swap those pig feet out for some chicken wings though 😂🙌😂🙌😂. Ok back on track….Anyway, mama was a natural at desserts. So many folk have jumped the broom and served mama’s wedding cake so much so until we turned her hobby, born in the kitchen into a bakery in 2014. Baker Sisters at your Service. 

 

Our Products

All of our desserts are delicious. We employ the finest ingredients; butter, heavy cream and a passion for creating an excellent and remarkable culinary experience. However, being dubbed 1 of 2 of the best caramel cakes in Chicago, by a WGN Food critic, we can confidently say our Caramel cake is satisfying without exception! The peach cobbler is flaky, tender, mouth watering indulgence. The banana pudding is alternating layers of rich, creamy custard and vanilla wafers. Last but certainly not least is our “COOKIE CORN” the newborn of the lineup, which was inspired by the appreciation of good old buttered popcorn and the perfect cookie.
